Grace

Emma plays for you.

I think it is always, always, always better to err on the side of grace. It's a sweet song isn't it?

Hey, do me a favor and jump over to my facebook page (click on the icon at the very top, right hand of this page) and fill in the blank on my little informal survey. Pretty please? I'm going to be doing a few more of these... so please make sure that you "like" the page.

"You're not getting sick" tea

When I was a child, I couldn't say home from school unless: 1.) I was puking. 2.) I was bleeding profusely.  This philosophy has helped me with some pretty decent mental toughness when it comes to getting sick. I'm not getting sick. I don't get sick. I just can't.

I've come to learn that it is better to prevent illness. Eat well, exercise, sleep hard, wash your hands. We know these things. But, for those days when I feel like I might be coming down with something (I'm probably not- but just in case :) I drink tea.

This is no ordinary tea. It's a little intense... but trust me, it's what you need. The ingredients are simple- they all have immune boosting properties, and you probably already have them in your cupboard:

1 lemon, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, honey to taste, 2 cloves garlic- smashed, 1 inch piece of ginger root- peeled and grated.

Squeeze the lemons into a quart jar or pyrex measuring cup (don't worry about the seeds, you're going to strain it later), also add the smashed garlic, grated ginger, and cayenne. Pour 4 cups of boiling water in, cover, and let steep at least 10 minutes.

Then, pour it through a strainer and into your cup. Sweeten with honey (it's good for a sore throat and cough).

It works. I promise. (You have to believe it with your whole heart!)  Drink up, and get well!
